Rules of the port

Always listen out on VHF channels 12 and 16, when you approach, shift berth or depart. Large fishing vessels should report their expected time of arrival to the harbour office as soon as possible.
There is a 24.hour listening watch on channels 12 and 16.
Unloading
Unloading of fish is always as follows:
- at quay 41, water depth of 4,9 metres, or
- at quay 53, water depth of 4,9 metres, or
- at quay 38, water depth of 7,5 metres, or
- at quay 37, water depth of 7,5 metres, or
- at quay 12, water depth of 8,4 metres.
Vessels that have unloaded may not lie at these quays.
Berths
There are specific berths for fishing vessels of varying sizes and types.
The berthing of a vessel other than at a place appropriate to the size and type of vessel is forbidden.
If you are i doubt about where you may berth, call the harbour office on VHF.
Vessels originating from other ports must inform the harbour master´s office of the person responsible for the vessel if the crew goes home.
Storage of equipment
The harbour office can inform you where you may store equipment etc. Equipment left on the quay without being clearly and permentently marked with the vessel´s number will be removed by the harbour staff and treated as lost property.
Under no circumstances may equipment etc. be stored on quays 38 and 41 (at the auction halls) nor on quay 53 (between the unloading cranes).
Fresh water
On quay 17, 31, 81 and 82, there are standpipes with hoses from which vessels can obtain fresh water without payment. At some of the other quays, fresh water can be obtained at a fee.
Electricity from land
Electricity is available at alle quays by arrangment with the harbour office.

Harbour Property
Harbour property includes the harbour area proper, the Roshage jetty east of the harbour plus an adjacent land area west, south and east of the harbour. Harbour property also includes the following:
A) The water area within the outer harbour jettys.
B) A 200-metre-wide area of water outside the outer harbour jettys.
C) A 200-metre-wide area of water around til Roshage jetty.
D) A 200-metre-wide area of water outside the land area of the harbour.
Sailing regulations
Sailing within harbour property is governed by the current special rules for sailing in certain Danish waters.
At Hanstholm, a special rule says that outward-bound vessels must wait. Maximum allowed speed within the dock area is three knots. Reference is made to “Den danske havnelods” (“Harbour Pilot”).
General regulations
The regulations contained in “Standardreglement for overholdelse af orden i danske havne” (“Standard Regulations for Danish Harbours”) apply, plus the following:
The delivery of fuel from tank vehicles to vessels in the harbour may only take place at quays appointed by the harbour inspector.
Only vessels having obtained prior permission from the harbour inspector may enter the harbour.
A berthing plan exist for vessels i harbour.
