New General Manager at Port of Hanstholm

The Municipality of Thisted has today approved Port of Hanstholm’s recommendation of Ms. Birgitte Juhl as new General Manager for the Port of Hanstholm.

The accession is expected to take place on 1^st May 2008 and will take place simultaneously with the retirement of the present General Manager, Hans Kjaer.

The Board of Directors of the port, who has made the recommendation, has attached great importance to finding a manager, who is expected to establish a good co-operation between the many companies of the port and all other co-operative partners of the Port of Hanstholm. This is extremely important, as the port faces strong growth in the coming years, when a new Development Plan is going be to implemented.

Birgitte Juhl comes from a position as Development Manager at the Municipality of Vesthimmerland, where she was also member of the Management of the Municipality. Birgitte Juhl has also previously run a chartered surveyor company and thus a background from general business life as well as, during the recent years, from her job as development manager of a municipality.

Furthermore Birgitte Juhl has great experience from project management and financing of public investment projects, not least to mention establishing co-operation between Danish state as well as EU institutions.
