The value of edible fish landings in Port of Hanstholm amounted in 2010 to DKK 500 million – and Port of Hanstholm again demonstrates its position as the largest edible fish port of Denmark. In addition to this Port of Hanstholm breaks its own all time fish supply record as the total value of landings to the port in 2010 amounted to DKK 729 million – the largest ever in the history of Port of Hanstholm – so the truth that Hanstholm lives on fish becomes more and more clear…

2010 also showed a positive trend in the value of plaice landed in Hanstholm. Though prices for this fish were very unfavourable in 2010 the value of landings rose from DKK 20 million in 2009 to DKK 33 million in 2010 – an increase of 65%. Hanstholm is the 2nd largest in plaice landings in 2010 only exceeded by Thyborøn.

Port of Hanstholm is the 2nd largest port in Denmark on total value of landings – when both industrial and edible fish are included – hereunder pelagic fish (herring and mackerel) – only exceeded by Port of Skagen (see the graph above to the right).
