- on with the working clothes!

On 22nd October 2008 Port of Hanstholm acted as host for an information and debate meeting for all interested concerning the development plan for Port of Hanstholm. Now the time has come where we have to put on our working clothes and the process will start up on 12th November with an idea collecting meeting, where the appointed user groups will assist in establishing a common perspective of the process.

"Birgitte Juhl": When you set out on a journey, it is important that you agree on the destination and the course to follow. Otherwise it will be difficult to pack a suitcase and to know if to take the bike or the car. Port of Hanstholm is not in doubt that we want development - and that we want it together with our companies and users. In order to succeed with this, we have to agree on the goal - and the road we have to follow.

For this reason we take the first step together with the user groups for "fishing", "ferry", "traffic" and "new initiatives", where we across the groups discuss the ideas and values already identified by the users and companies. In this way we will from day 1 get all ideas involved - great and small - and in mutual understanding get the contribution for a common picture of the frame within which we are going to work. The user groups need this frame to be able to perform their progressive work.

The process is divided into 4 main stages:

Collection of Ideas - Core Values - Idea plan - Development Plan

The information from the collection of ideas will subsequently be adapted by the control groups and the Board of the Port into core values - the frame of the process - which is going to be the basis of the ongoing work with the construction of the idea plan and finally the complete development plan.

The presentation of the complete development plan Port of Hanstholm is expected to take place in June 2009.
