Port of Hanstholm and Hanstholm Maritime Service Network participate the fishing exhibition Scottish Skipper Expo on the 12th and 13th of May in the Scottish port town of Aberdeen. The exhibition attracts a large international audience.

This week, the Port of Hanstholm is participating Skipper Expo in the Scottish port city of Aberdeen. The fair is a flagship of fishing fairs and attracts exhibitors and visitors from all over the world.

Port of Hanstholm regulates fees concerning auction halls due to rising energy prices

In order to maintain the current operation of the port’s auction halls, the Port of Hanstholm is forced to regulate the fees associated with the use of the halls. The costs for water, electricity, hall gates, and operation of refrigeration systems have all increased significantly within a short time. In addition, the completed improvement of the logistics center has created improved opportunities for accessing supplies of fish to the auction.

In the summer of 2019, construction began on the new 1600 m2 auction hall, in order to strengthen the port's auction capacity, but also to solve the logistics of handling the large quantities of fish that are handled every day and which are expected to increase in the future.

Filling the pier head with gravel - Thursday and Friday

In late June, the pier head for the Port of Hanstholm's new western breakwater was installed at its proper position and filled with water. Now, the next step is to change the water with gravel for permanent filling, which is expected to happen from the night of Thursday 11 July.

Pier head at right position and port entrance open again

Port of Hanstholm's entrance is again open. However, there will sill be work on and around the pier head for some time, and it is therefore important that ships are cautious and sailing slowly around the port entrance. Also, it is necessary to coordinate arrival and departure with the port guard on VHF channel 12.

Port of Hanstholm closed for up to 24 hours from tonight at 4 a.m.

We point out that the Port of Hanstholm will be closed for up to 24 hours during the installation of the large pier head for the new western breakwater. The closure will start tonight at 4 a.m. (the night of Tuesday), and there will be limited traffic from 03.30.

The local maritime service cluster, Hanstholm Maritime Service Network, has now launched an English version of their webpage - making it easier for international vessels and other to find the right service providers at and around the Port of Hanstholm.

We make aware of two temporary buoys (without light) located about 1 nautical mile from Port of Hanstholm at the positions 057° 09.361' N 008° 35.720' E and 057° 08.852' N 008° 36.108' E.

Tender of concession agreement for operation of Port of Hanstholm's tank facility

Port of Hanstholm puts out to tender the operation of the port's storage facility for a 10-year concession period.

Update: Change in navigation conditions - marked with buoys

We draw attention to the fact that in connection with the port construction, the port entrance has changed, and a work area for new outer jetties (East and West jetty) is marked with buoys (NB: buoy no. 4 has been moved). Likewise, granite stones will be placed underwater in the working area, where the new outer jetties will be established.

Goods shipping activities continue to grow

Shipping activity at the Port of Hanstholm continues to grow. This week, the port shipped approximately 4,500 tons of Luxovit to England, as well as 1,500 tons of fishmeal and 800 tons of special sand to Norway.
